Study programmes

At DTU you can choose from several courses and programmes covering the maritime area.

We offer study lines and courses that specialize in all aspects of Maritime Engineering: economic, management, technological, mechanical and design.

Regardless of which programme you choose, the flexible course structure at DTU allows you to add additional courses from DTU and abroad, such that all aspects of Maritime Engineering are covered, including naval architecture and skills in innovation and sustainability.

Our courses are taught by leading researchers, and as a student at DTU you get hands-on access to world-class facilities. Throughout your studies, you will be trained in advanced research methods, learn how to adopt a constructive and critical approach to research findings, and get experience with translating new knowledge into technical solutions.

Master's degree level - study lines and programmes in Maritime Engineering

Master's programme

Study line in Naval Architecture & Offshore Engineering

Learn methods to design, construct, test, and operate ships, offshore wind turbines, wave energy converters, and aquaculture facilities – while developing safe, cost-effective, and efficient structures with minimal adverse impacts on the local and global environments.

Master's programme

Industrial Engineering and Management - with a specialization in Supply Chain Management and Logistics

Specialize in the operational aspects within, e.g., the shipping industry, optimizing everything from supply chains, ports, routes, energy consumption, to decision-making procedures. In addition, you will consider the alternative fuels of the future and their impact on sustainable development.

Nordic Master

Maritime Engineering (Nordic Five Tech)

Study ships, including, yachts and offshore structures, their design, construction and operation and their interaction with the environment. You will learn about design, construction, and technical operation of ships and offshore structures — including hydrostatics and stability, hydrodynamics, wave and wind loads, propulsion, and structural analyses.

Bachelor of Science

Naval Architecture & Offshore Engineering (BSc)

This bachelor's degree prepares you for a master's programme in Naval Architecture and Offshore Engineering. The programme focuses on ships and offshore structures, and you will work with mechanical constructions, energy systems, operation and economics. Note that this programme is in Danish.

Bachelor of Engineering

Naval Architecture & Offshore Engineering (BEng)

A Bachelor of Engineering in Naval Architecture & Offshore Engineering (in Danish Diplomingeniør i Maskinteknik) gives you a broad introduction to the field of maritime and offshore engineering. Note that this programme is in Danish.
